Megalopolis X

Megalopolis X will be the new center in the heart of the greater bay area, close to the border between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The master plan integrates architecture with pedestrian networks, parks and public spaces. Above and below ground transportation networks are being planned by maximizing connectivity in the city. A below ground sustainable infrastructure network will provide systems for district cooling and automatic waste treatment in a seamless manner. The aim is to establish a creative master plan framework of how cities will be designed in the future.

X Transport

X Transport is a concept cargo transport vehicle designed for Antarctic research stations. The design is inspired by penguins, which slide on their bellies to move quickly across ice and snow. The shell is made of metal, and the two skis at the base are made of high-strength carbon fiber. Propulsion units at the top and the tail use vector thrust technology to control speed and direction. The cargo cabin is held by an X-shaped structure that can be raised and lowered to adjust the center of gravity. The aim is faster delivery of supplies.

SkyRig aims to replace the existing oil rigs in water with three high-rise modular structures to provide housing, and retail, commercial, and public amenities. The complex will provide equitable, reliable, and sustainable living in the downtown area while referencing the city’s past in the oil industry. Using wind, solar, water, and biomass to generate energy, water, and food, the towers will provide a circular lifestyle with net zero operation carbon.

Acoustic Cable Deicing Robot

Acoustic Cable Deicing Robot is a conceptual robot designed to remove ice from power cables after snowstorms. The device is mounted directly on the cable. A cylindrical heating ring inside the robot gradually warms the cable surface until the ice melts. An anti-freezing material on the outer layer prevents ice from forming again. Closed switches on both sides keep the robot attached during work. A manual interface and a mobile application let the operator preset tasks and follow progress. The robot is intended to replace manual deicing at height and reduce risk for workers.

W-3E Mask

During the epidemic, people wear masks, which cover people’s faces and reduce the efficiency of communication. The W-3E mask uses facial recognition and an internal projector to project corresponding expression patterns. The replaceable filter element reduces the waste of resources, the radiators on both sides make the air more comfortable, and the external display screen feedbacks the user's physical state in real time.

iPlant

An innovative water supply embedded system in iPlant guaranties plants life long for a month. A new intelligent irrigation system is used to provide the necessary water for roots. This solution is an approach for water consumption concerns. Also, smart sensors could check soil nutrients composition, moisture level, and other soil and plant health factors and, according to plant type, compares them with standard level and then send notifications to the iPlant mobile application.
